Malan designed arsenic and noir embroidered black lace shawl lapel tuxedo. blue.eyed.freckle. – three words you need to always remember. Why? This is the name of some of the cutest & most stylish handmade headbands for any fashionista. For any season, just throw on any blueeyedfreckle headband and it instantly gives your outfit that extra pop it needs. They aren’t your average headbands.
Pink & Green Coiled Wool Felt Headband, $15
Cluster of Feathers Headband, $15
Words from Katie, the designer of blueeyedfreckle:
"Each blueeyedfreckle headband is hand-cut and constructed out of various wool felts, including lots of vibrant colors that I have dyed myself. You might not see the same headbands in my shop all the time because I always love to come up with fresh, new designs (and custom orders/colors are always welcome). I love the way a headband can dress up a plain outfit, especially when you are on the run. As a new mom, I have been thankful many times that I had a fun headband to throw on when I was running out the door in an otherwise drab outfit. When you wear one of my headbands you instantly feel fabulous because regardless of what you are wearing, your hair piece is making a statement. Oh, and side note: they are actually comfortable. Most headbands hurt my head, so I have made sure that that is not the case with the ones I make!"
Get shopping: blueeyedfreckle is now available at FABU spa and boutique in Decatur, GA, Young Blood Gallery and Boutique in Atlanta, GA, and Quirk in Richmond, VA but also anytime at the blyeeyedfreckle etsy shop. And make sure you stop by Katie’s blog to get to know her some more!

After several successful seasons of participating in fashion weeks around the world, Toni Francesc will return to “Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week” for a second time. He will present his Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection on Tuesday, February 16 at 9:00pm in the Salon at Bryant Park.
Toni Francesc collections appeal to the young and sophisticated woman. He is known for his innovative designs and experimentation of combining urban elements that coexist with the technical and useful. The upcoming collection, “Artificial Life” is based on an androgynous image, one in which man and technology combine. The collection is an in-depth interpretation of the future without overlooking the roots of the past and the world of hand crafted creation.
The inspiration of the season parallels the metaphor of humans connecting only through technology and feeling alienated without the face- to- face interaction on a daily basis with one another. The shapes and volumes of the upcoming collection are based on a mixture of pieces that protrude from the figure in parts of the body, such as the shoulders and the hips. Angular forms and projecting parts play a prominent role in the pieces. The fabrics consist of cotton, viscose and silk and the color palette is modified through fading processes to refer to rusted metals and industrial elements.
Francesc studied at the Instituto Catalan de la Moda from 1986- 1988 and shortly after created the Toni Francesc S.L. Company. Besides commercial success of his collections, Toni has also collaborated with several prestigious television, theater and Spanish productions serving as their wardrobe designer. He has garnered tremendous press and attention throughout the industry for his unique vision and abstract designs.
Francesc has participated in Fashion Week’s around the world such as, Hong Kong, Madrid, Mexico and Moscow. Francesc is at the forefront of breaking international markets for the world of Spanish designers and will promise to be as successful this upcoming season.

Toni Maticevski Fall 2010 Collection
Location: The Altman Building 135 West 18th Street, New York

Australian designer, Toni Maticevski gave us fresh romance -- with Oscar night not to long away he showed he is an awards- show red carpet designer.
Full of embellished skirts, silk tulle, drapy chiffon and organza gowns – Tony experimented with lots of layering and ornamentation – it was all about the light & sheer fabrics giving us new silhouettes in a muted palette to hopefully look forward to the next time the Golden Globes comes around. Ballerina chignons and slicked back hair, some with an edge presented models with a simple, chic, and sweet Hollywood glam look.
FAVE: The silk chiffon multilayered polka-dot evening dress would look great on any twentysomething star.

Young New York City based designer Daniel Vosovic debuted his first full women’s RTW collection for Fall/Winter 2010 during NY Fashion Week on Thursday, February 11th from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Exit Art. Vosovic’s tailored aesthetic was accentuated by strong marble inspired digital prints, detailed embroidered accents and strong structured shoulders.
Vosovic found his inspiration during a late night summer stroll through Washington Square Park in New York City. The designer developed the concept of his collection by observing the effects of time and the elements on various statues and sculptures and exploring the notion of creative destruction. Vosovic created completely original prints and embroideries derived from studying the aging process of oxidized copper, broken marble, and other materials in various stages of transformation.
The inspiration was communicated throughout the presentation space by dim ambient lights, models posed strongly on stark white pedestals, and a sweeping nature film projected on the walls made by young film makers Porter Panther (www.porterpanther.com). Through the use of tailored separates with digitally printed satins, richly colored suede, and flowing dresses, Vosovic was able to capture the essence of a quiet wide open park-like space filled with strong artistic silhouettes. Vosovic casted all Asian models to present his collection to the public as one cohesive form and add a striking consistency to the overall effect.
Hair was designed by Enrico Mariatti using Salon Tech styling tools, with the Cutler hair team pinning up the hair to create a grassy field effect, evoking a natural structured feel. Samantha Trinh of Atelier Management kept the make-up natural and dewy featuring earth tone shaded eyes and nude shimmery lips.
ALDO provided simple, chic pumps and booties with sky high heels in nudes and blacks to augment the simple statuesque vibe of the garments. New York City based Jewelry designer Sequin custom made strong, elaborately detailed jeweled necklaces and brass knuckle style rings to add a lovely feminine aspect and sparkle.
