Ramona Singer Talks Skin, Passion & All About the Jewels!

Taking it easy isn't her thing, she has passion, loves a good workout and her one fear is wrinkly old skin (which we are sure she won't have to worry about) --  as for having it all...well, "stay positive" and you got it.

Just a few weeks ago Ramona Singer was able to fit in a chat with us before heading to the gym. The bright-eyed, energetic housewife from Bravo's The Real Housewives of New York City quickly taught us that Ramona is more than just a reality tv star - she is an inspiring, multi-tasking, business women with incredible passion and enthusiasm. Even on the phone we suggested she would make a great motivational speaker because that woman could rule the world with her words of wisdom!

Ramona truly has a passion for everything she does - especially with her latest collection for HSN, Ramona Singer Jewelry, as she describes it as the perfect "red carpet look but not red carpet prices." Her favorite piece? "I love every piece." Ramona suggests working them in with old pieces, mixing colors or go tonal - whatever you choose they are all fabulous - like the designer herself. As for her favorite piece in her personal collection her signature piece is her cuff bracelet. And from black tie to bathing suit the one piece of jewelry she can't be without is her classic Diamond Hoops. They are by far the perfect accessory.

Before getting into all the details about her fabulous jewelry line we had to know how she stays so fit and looks so amazing for her age."You can look good without having surgery. Its all about a way of life - your diet is a way of life." Ramona's diet? "Stopped eating starches at night, no red meat - fresh fruit, berries, whole wheat, always 7 grains." You can take a look on Ramona's blog as she give us a peak at the exercises she does. It is hard to believe this super woman only works out for an hour three times a week!  As for her skin - she thanks her skin line TrueRenewal "Even my make-up artist for The Real Housewives of New York noticed a great change in my skin and that my pores were smaller this season."

Well besides being a perfect business woman Ramona has another job - a wife and a mom. We asked Ramona, "If there is one thing you want your daughter to learn from you - what would it be?" And her answer was "Make sure you make your own money and be financially independent." As for balancing it all? "Make sure you have private alone time with your man! Have your best friend watch your kids and you watch her kids because men do need to be reined in." As for family time? "Its quality not quantity". And for all those mompreneurs out there "Love what you do, stay positive and stay focused."

TO DIE! The perfect classic accessory for a modern-day fashionista!

And now back to the jewels! You all must watch Ramona present the latest additions to her HSN Jewelry Collection this week on August 11th from 12pm - 2pm EST and look out for our favorites! We just die over the Smoky Quartz & Diamond Cut Cushion Ring and of course, the must-have Diamond Hoops! Shop now to get the special event prices!

Until then, what can you expect to see? Ramona designed a timeless affordable collection - you really would think it cost thousands! Classic, sophisticated and glamour are 3 words that immediately come to mind. Drawing inspiration from her own pieces she has brought only the best to her HSN collection. Inspired by her love for art deco and estate - her new line of pendants, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings, priced between $125 and $659.  “I don’t want a trendy piece of jewelry to hand down to my daughter, Avery, because it will be out of style and she won’t want to wear it,” Singer notes. “Estate jewelry will always be in style, and women will always wear it.” The collection is full of new cuts and vibrant gemstones that take you from day to night in style wherever you go.

Favorite TV show? The Real Housewives of New York

the LO down - catching up with the one & only LO BOSWORTH!

We loved her on Laguna Beach. We loved her on The Hills. Whats not to love about Lo? She doesn't even need an introduction or a last name but for those who aren't familiar with Lo Bosworth - you have missed out over the years; the girl who is always sweet & chic.

Not only has she been the star of Mtv's top rated reality show but she is a business owner, television host, author and let's not forget amazing writer & creator of The Lo Down -- the perfect go-to site that focuses on five main categories - Relationships, Health and Fitness, Style, Beauty, and Life. Published daily, Lo and her team give us great style and beauty tips and Lo even shares vacay pics with her readers. If you haven't checked out The Lo Down you have to make it a point to stop by everyday.

And even though we get our daily dose of Lo, since the hills has wrapped we have missed all of her "docusoap" moments, as she refers to them and we couldn't wait to find out whats next for Lo.

How has life been since The Hills wrapped? Do you miss the filming crew yet?
Lo: Life has been busier than ever! I used to film about 3-4 days a week, but now with my new website requiring constant love and attention, I'm working 7 days a week. I do miss the film crew, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be working with a few members again on my next TV project.

We love your new site! What inspired The Lo Down?
Lo: Thank you! In truth, the fans inspired TheLoDown.com. I found that my connection to fans, especially on Twitter and now via my own website, is especially heightened through social media. I'm so thrilled that I get to reach out to readers and followers on an even deeper and more personal level. I'm now everybody's best friend rather than just the other Hillsies.

Describe your style. Do you have a go-to-outfit?
Lo: My go to outfit starts at the bottom, with high, highhh heels (4 inch minimum, black in color). Then, black jeggings, silk tank (probably grey, lime green, black, or navy), and tailored, black blazer. Finish the look with my black Balencia bag, gold jewelry and black shades. I wear a lot of grey, navy and black with a pop of color here and there. Pretty classic all around.

You always look so great & fresh. If we looked inside your make-up bag what would we find?
Lo: You would find a lot of skin-care products and varying shades of foundation and bronzer. I think perfecting the skin is the key to any flawless make-up look. Moisturizing, followed quickly by foundation so that it sets while the skin is still dewy is essential.

When you leave the house what is always in your purse or clutch?
Lo:My blackberry, an eyelash curler, pressed powder and my Moleskin notebook.. Always.

Now that you have The Lo Down, The Hills has wrapped. What is up next for you?
Lo: My immediate day to day priority is the website. Also on the writing front, I have my first book coming out in January! It's also entitled The Lo Down surprise, surprise! The book is a relationship guide that is essentially the anti-"He's Just Not That Into You". I'm delivering a positive message rather than putting chicks down. On the TV side, I'm done with docusoaps. I have a pretty cool hosting gig in the works (can't spill the beans yet, though), and my long-term television goals include hosting my own talk show!

1. My favorite nail-polish shade is light pink.
2. I prefer gold jewelry over silver.
3. I hate pickles.
4. I hate yellow mustard, but love ketchup (to the degree that I developed a ketchup rash as a kid!)
5. I'm a Mac.
6. My favorite class in college was biology.
7. I pick at my fingernails all the time.
8. My bedroom is yellow, but has about 5 different paint swatches currently on the wall. It's been this way for about a year.
9. My room is messy more often than not.
10. My all-time favorite food is cheese pizza, followed by spicy tuna rolls, followed by bolognese from La Scala.

Make sure you stay up-to-date with all things Lo (we demand it!) on The Lo Down and Twitter! It is a MUST!

get excited! why? RACHEL ZOE is BACK!

Written By Shasta

Rachel Zoe is back on Bravo with her hit show "The Rachel Zoe Project" today, August 3rd. I am absolutely so excited about this. I have blogged about my love for Rachel Zoe many times, she is an absolute style icon for me. Zoe's chic style, that seems to come from another time period, is always relevant. RZ's love of the late Halston (amazing American deisgner, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halston) shows in her own wardrobe and how she dresses her clients.

Her book, "Style A to Zoe", came out in October of 2007. Please tell me that you all have read it, if not, here is an excerpt and more reason we LOVE her.

"Why glamour?
Why not? Sure, as with fashion and beauty or any other aesthetics, the pursuit of glamour is not going to save the world. But life’s too short not to pay attention, get up an hour earlier and stay up an hour later, or even to be wide open to all of its amazing possibilities.
Life’s too short not to take risks. To glam it up! A life of glamour and style makes everything that much more electrifying, that much more engaging.
Think about how we just can’t get enough of the brightest icons of Hollywood, past and present. How much we consume stories and snapshots of the charismatic characters living it up in the fashion glossies or in long- ago- published biographies. Or how much, as children, we adored the petite lady living next door who appeared larger than life, a kind of Diana Vreeland figure, draped in incredible caftans and laughing that gregarious laugh. Glamour can come in the form of a suggestion, a hint — like a pair of oversized sunglasses — or it can appear in all its unapologetic glory, blinding bright from the pile of gold bangles on a bronzed wrist or at an informally chic dinner you throw for your friends at a favorite restaurant. It isn’t about fashion.
It’s style. In my book, glamour is pure lifestyle.
My kind of glamour combines California ease with New York high life. It favors modern, even if it’s vintage. It’s browned to a deep Bain de Soleil tan and best served up with a crisp glass of champagne. It calls for a measure of je ne sais quoi. Yet style doesn’t require gobs of resources, fiscal or otherwise. As a stylist who dresses some of Hollywood’s most recognizable and engaging actresses, collaborates with fashion designers for their runway shows and advertising campaigns, and works with brilliant photographers on magazine editorials, it’s my job to know. As a lifelong lover of everything glamorous, it’s my thrill to share it with you.
Dreaming is real
Even all grown up and a part of the global fashion machine, I still love opening a pristine magazine or book and getting lost in the stories and photographs of all the amazing parties and people featured. I study the images. I dream. I tear out pages out for later reference. I admit it’s a bit aspirational and inspirational. But it’s a personal indulgence that has obviously had its professional merits, too, in my decade and a half as a stylist."

......if that isn't LOVE, I don't know what is.......
The fashion stylist to the stars has not been without controversy, her uber thin body will always have people talking. The thing is, no matter what her size is, this amazing woman has incredible style and can pull very chic looks together on any budget. Have you read "The Zoe Report" on www.rachelzoe.com? LOVE IT and read it daily. Her website is very personal and interactive with her readers. It is quite clear that this fashionista loves to help others find their own individual look, while feeling good about themselves.
Just like Rachel, we too can "Be Glamorous Everyday", as she says. Taking just a few extra moments to get ready for the day can make all the difference in our attitude. When we look good, we feel good. Rachel Zoe sends the message to her viewers and readers that you can find that glam that we are all looking for at any price point. Zoe's line for QVC has been an absolute hit! My top picks from her line? I can't be without the Door Knocker earrings, V-neck faux fur vest, Bracelet watch and shoulder bag -- Make sure you check out QVC.com - I absolutely LOVE!

Make sure you tune into Bravo tonight as we all go ga-ga over Season 3!
